Tire rotations are important because when you move your tires around on your vehicle it helps reduce overall tread wear of individual options as well as the entire set. Each tire in a respective position is doing a different job, and when you rotate them you are making sure one isn't more worn down than the other. If the tires are left on the same spots and are well overdue for a rotation, it can lead to the tread hitting dangerous levels which means a loss of grip and stopping power, making it a safety issue for you and others on the road.
We recommend getting a tire rotation every 6,000 miles as that is the right amount of time for normal driving habits to rotate them so they last as long as possible. There are some signs that you need a tire rotation. One is if you've driven over the set mileage, but another is if you're noticing you don't have as much stopping power or braking. Of course, if your tire tread is too far gone, you'll need a new set of tires. We can assist you with that as well. You're able to check your tire treads easily by placing a penny into the tire treads, Lincoln's head down. If the top of the head of the penny is easily covered, you're still good. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, it means you need new tires.
