New Options for the 2023 Model Year
Most of the 2023 Volkswagen GTI and Golf R is a carryover from the 2022 edition while updating the technology and driver assistance features to have the latest software. You'll find however there is a new 40th Anniversary Edition trim for this year only to celebrate the Golf GTI's run in the United States. The same goes for the Golf R, which has a 20th Anniversary Edition.
Performance
The 2023 Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that provides 241 horsepower along with 273 pound-feet of torque. That's more powerful than its previous version and still offers either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. As for fuel economy, the Volkswagen Golf GTI is able to attain 25 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway with the automatic transmission onboard. It makes for a quality ride that is fun, can take corners, and get up to speed, making it a solid choice for those around areas like Alexandria and Arlington.
With the Golf R, you are able to find a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that provides 315 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic. It also has drive modes like Comfort, Sport, Race, Special, Drift, and Individual, meaning you can truly have some fun behind the wheel. This is why the Golf R is the choice for hot-hatch auto enthusiasts.
Interior and Technology
With the 2023 Golf GTI, you are able to find modern design, while still blending in a traditional classic style that has been associated with the brand. That includes the plaid-finish seat designs.
