Signs You Need a New Battery
There are typically easy signs to spot when you need a new car battery. The first is if your vehicle is having trouble starting on a regular basis. That means your battery power is low, and is not getting enough charge to power your vehicle. Another issue is related to the charge, meaning that you can start your vehicle, but it won't stay started, which indicates that your battery needs to be replaced.
Sometimes, our car batteries don't start for explainable reasons and it's not a sign to panic or get a new one. This is especially true on cold winter mornings, when cars and SUVs struggle to start. If it's been very cold and you have not been not driving for a while, your vehicle may need a jump. Generally, once you have your car jumped and take it for a drive of around 45 minutes to warm up the battery and recharge it, you should be fine. Another thing that might cause your battery not to start, but can be explained, is that if you've accidentally left a car light on in the cabin. That can lower battery life, but a jump and charge via a longer drive can help bring things back to normal.
